Bill Townsend is a serial entrepreneur who has been involved in the launch of more than a dozen companies over the past two decades. He is currently the Chairman of Amati Foundation, a nonprofit serving the education and music industries. He is President & CEO of TRICCAR Holdings, Inc., a bioceutical research and development firm. Bill most recently served on the boards of directors at Newegg.com, the #2 pure play Internet retailer and RevolutionSports, Inc., a television production company.
His background in entrepreneurship includes being part of the founding management team and Vice President Advertising and Vice President Worldwide Ideation at Internet search pioneer Lycos.com, was one of the first Internet companies to undertake an initial public offering, doing so in a NASDAQ record of 8-months.
Bill was cofounder of YouthStream Media Networks (now Alloy), the largest publicly-held young adult marketing and media company in America. YouthStream owned sixdegrees.com, the intellectual property behind LinkedIn. His management skills have been utilized at companies like GeoCities (now Yahoo!), Deja News (now Google and eBay), NewsAlert (now DowJones), IntelliQuant, Really Easy Internet (now Hey, Inc.), Solidus Networks, Cyber Operations, and Ocean Technology.
